Meet Bre
Hello, I'm Bre, the heart behind You Can Grieve.
I believe the animals who share our lives leave an imprint on our hearts that time cannot erase.
As a Pet Loss and Grief Support Specialist, and pet parent, I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can share your love story, express every emotion, and honor the love that remains.
Here, you never, ever, ever have to minimize any of your grief or explain why they meant so much. I get it.
Their story matters. And so does yours.

About me
Animals have been a meaningful part of my life since I was 6 months old Through more than 30+ years of experience caring for animals, I've witnessed the extraordinary relationships we build with them, the joy they bring into our lives, and the profound emptiness their absence can leave behind.
My understanding of pet loss isn't just professional. It's personal.
I've loved and lost animals who transformed my heart and my life, and I've experienced the tremendously profound heartbreak of having to say "until we meet again".
I OVERSTAND how grief can bring sadness, guilt, anger, unanswered questions, emptiness, wondering who you are without them and even moments of laughter when a beautiful memory unexpectedly finds its way back to us.
I also OVERSTAND what it's like to have people around you who just...don't get it. Some of them say awful things or react to your grief in a way that magnifies the pain.
I get it. I do. And you won't have any of that bullsh*t here.
My Philosophy: Their Life Was More Than Their Goodbye
I'm not religious, but I am spiritual. I believe animals enter our lives for a reason, forever changing us through the love we share.
But believing their love lives on doesn't make their absence hurt any less.
The guilt, the anger, the regrets, the unanswered questions, and the moments you wish you could change all deserve to be heard.
I want to hear about the heartbreak, but I also want to know them. Their personalities, their silly habits, and the moments you'd give anything to experience again.
We can honor their life without minimizing the pain of their death.
Here, you don't have to choose between grief and gratitude, laughter and tears, or love and anger.
All of it belongs here.
What You Can Expect From Me
My approach is rooted in compassionate listening, emotional understanding, and honoring the connection you shared with your animal companion.
You never have to apologize for crying, explain why your grief is so intense, or pretend you're doing better than you are.
I won't tell you it's time to move on, that everything happens for a reason, or that another pet will fill the space they left behind.
Instead, I'll meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and help you make room for both your grief and the love that remains.
I'm not a licensed therapist or mental health counselor. I'm a grief support specialist offering compassionate, nonclinical companionship, and I believe professional therapy can be a valuable complement to grief support.
